SITC International Holdings Company Limited reported stronger operating performance during the first nine months of 2026, supported by growth in container shipping volumes and higher average freight rates.

According to preliminary unaudited figures, group revenue increased by approximately 14.2% to US$2.81 billion, compared with US$2.46 billion during the corresponding period of 2025.

Container shipping volumes reached 2,912,117 TEUs, representing an increase of 5.9% from 2,749,844 TEUs a year earlier. The group’s average freight rate, excluding slot exchange fee income, rose by 9.4% to US$825.9 per TEU, compared with US$754.9 per TEU in the previous year.

Container volumes and freight rates support revenue growth

The increase in container shipping volumes and average freight rates coincided with SITC’s stronger revenue performance during the nine-month period.

The group transported approximately 162,000 additional TEUs compared with the corresponding period of 2025, while the average freight rate increased by US$71 per TEU.

The figures indicate growth in both cargo volumes and average freight rates, although the company did not provide a detailed breakdown of revenue by individual trade lane or service.

SITC emphasised that the operating statistics are based on preliminary internal information and have not been audited. The final figures may differ from those presented in subsequent financial statements.

Board declares special dividend

Alongside the operating update, SITC International announced that its board had approved a special dividend of HK$1.00 per ordinary share, equivalent to approximately US$0.13.

The dividend will be payable to shareholders registered at the close of business on 11 December 2026, with distribution expected on 17 December 2026.

To determine shareholder eligibility, the company will close its register of members between 8 and 11 December 2026, inclusive.

The special dividend announcement follows the company’s earlier notice regarding the board’s consideration of a distribution to shareholders.

SITC’s latest disclosure highlights stronger container shipping activity during the first nine months of 2026, although the preliminary operating figures do not establish the group’s net profit performance for the period.
