Qatar Airways Cargo expands transatlantic freighter network

Qatar Airways Cargo is expanding its international freighter network for the Winter 2026 season, introducing new services and additional cargo capacity across Europe and North America.

The network changes include a new weekly Boeing 777 freighter service from Copenhagen, the return of freighter operations to Warsaw with a direct connection to Chicago, and an additional weekly service to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. The airline has also recently introduced twice-weekly freighter operations to Dallas Fort Worth, strengthening its dedicated cargo capacity in the United States.

The expansion is designed to improve connectivity between European and North American markets while providing customers with access to Qatar Airways Cargo’s wider international network through its Doha hub.

Additional belly-hold capacity across the airline’s Winter 2026 passenger network will complement the dedicated freighter services, supporting cargo movements across more than 160 destinations.

New freighter connections across Europe

Beginning 25 October 2026, Qatar Airways Cargo will introduce a weekly Boeing 777 freighter service from Copenhagen, Denmark.

The service will operate on the Doha–Budapest–Copenhagen–Doha routing, providing 100 tonnes of dedicated export capacity from Copenhagen each week.

According to the airline, the new operation will support exporters in Denmark and southern Sweden, offering connections to markets across Asia, the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent and Africa through Doha.

The dedicated freighter service will complement Qatar Airways’ existing 10 weekly Boeing 787 passenger flights serving Copenhagen. These passenger services provide more than 100 tonnes of belly-hold cargo capacity in each direction per week.

In Central Europe, Qatar Airways Cargo will resume freighter operations to Warsaw on 26 October 2026, introducing a weekly direct cargo connection from the Polish capital to Chicago.

The Boeing 777 freighter will operate on the Doha–Warsaw–Chicago–Brussels–Doha routing, providing Polish exporters and manufacturers with additional access to the United States.

The Warsaw service will operate alongside the airline’s twice-weekly freighters to Katowice and 10 weekly wide-body passenger flights to Warsaw.

Together, these operations will increase Qatar Airways Cargo’s total cargo capacity to and from Poland to more than 435 tonnes per week in each direction.

Additional capacity in New York and Dallas

Qatar Airways Cargo will also introduce a new weekly Boeing 777 freighter service to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, effective 1 November 2026.

The aircraft will operate on the Doha–Liège–New York (JFK)–Atlanta–Liège–Doha routing, expanding the airline’s dedicated freighter presence in the US market.

The new service will complement 14 weekly passenger flights serving New York, increasing the airline’s total weekly cargo capacity on the route to more than 226 tonnes in each direction.

Meanwhile, Qatar Airways Cargo has recently launched twice-weekly Boeing 777 freighter operations to Dallas Fort Worth.

The service operates on the Doha–Liège–Dallas–Doha routing, providing 200 tonnes of main-deck capacity into Dallas and 100 tonnes of outbound capacity each week.

Combined with the airline’s 14 weekly wide-body passenger flights, the new freighter operation increases total weekly cargo capacity to more than 250 tonnes into Dallas and over 150 tonnes outbound.

The additional services strengthen the airline’s cargo connections with Texas and provide customers with further access to international markets across its network.

Supporting international trade and specialised cargo

The expanded freighter network is intended to support a broad range of industries requiring dedicated air cargo capacity and international connectivity.

According to Qatar Airways Cargo, the new services will accommodate shipments associated with pharmaceuticals and healthcare, aerospace, technology, energy and industrial manufacturing.

The airline also expects the additional capacity to serve perishables, high-value and time-sensitive goods, vehicles, oversized cargo and general freight.

Alongside the dedicated freighter operations, Qatar Airways Cargo is increasing belly-hold capacity through adjustments to Qatar Airways’ Winter 2026 passenger network.

These combined developments are intended to provide customers with greater flexibility when arranging shipments between Europe, North America and other markets served through Doha.

Customers will be able to book shipments through the airline’s Digital Lounge platform or its network of distribution partners.

The new Copenhagen, Warsaw and New York services are scheduled to begin between 25 October and 1 November 2026, while the additional Dallas freighter operations have already commenced.

The expansion forms part of Qatar Airways Cargo’s Winter 2026 network programme, combining dedicated freighter capacity with passenger aircraft cargo space to support international freight movements.
