Princess Cruises unveils 2028–29 Australia and New Zealand programme

Princess Cruises has announced its 2028–29 Australia and New Zealand cruise programme, featuring three vessels operating across the region alongside a 129-night world cruise scheduled for 2029.

The programme includes more than 90 departures across over 70 itineraries, with voyages ranging from two to 46 nights. Grand Princess, Emerald Princess and Royal Princess will operate across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, covering 42 destinations in six countries.

The season will also mark the return of Emerald Princess to Australia for the first time since the 2016–17 season, alongside renewed homeporting operations in Melbourne and an expanded selection of New Zealand itineraries.

Grand Princess to operate 129-night world cruise

A central component of the announcement is the 2029 Grand World Odyssey, which Princess Cruises describes as its longest-ever roundtrip world cruise departing from Australia.

Operated by Grand Princess, the 129-night voyage will cover approximately 37,300 nautical miles, visiting 61 destinations in 31 countries across five continents. The itinerary includes calls in Europe, the Mediterranean, the Americas and the South Pacific, with departures available from Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, as well as Dover in the United Kingdom.

The voyage will include two full transits of the Panama Canal’s new locks, alongside scenic cruising near Easter Island and Pitcairn Island. Princess Cruises has also scheduled eight late-night port stays and one overnight call, providing additional time at selected destinations.

According to the company, the itinerary offers opportunities to visit 51 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Three ships deployed across Australia and New Zealand

The company’s regional programme will include departures from six ports: Adelaide, Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth (Fremantle) and Sydney.

Among the scheduled itineraries are 17 round-Australia voyages, alongside sailings to New Zealand and destinations throughout the South Pacific. The programme also includes 11 extended port experiences involving late-night departures or overnight stays.

Destinations featured in the schedule include Phillip Island, Kangaroo Island and the Kimberley Coast in Australia, as well as Fiordland National Park in New Zealand.

Princess Cruises Chief Commercial Officer Jim Berra said the new programme would provide passengers with a broader selection of itineraries across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, alongside the company’s extended world cruise offering.

The announced voyages are scheduled to become available for booking on 10 November 2026.

Princess Cruises operates as part of Carnival Corporation, whose cruise brands serve destinations worldwide.
