ADNOC Gas signs five-year LNG supply agreement with TotalEnergies

ADNOC Gas has signed a five-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement with TotalEnergies covering up to 1.6 million tonnes of LNG, extending the companies’ existing commercial relationship as ADNOC expands its international gas marketing activities.

The agreement strengthens cooperation between the two energy companies and supports ADNOC Gas’s strategy to develop its LNG business in response to growing global demand. TotalEnergies is also a shareholder and strategic partner of ADNOC Gas, providing an established foundation for their continued commercial relationship.

Fatema Al Nuaimi, Chief Executive Officer of ADNOC Gas, said the agreement reflects the company’s efforts to secure longer-term supply partnerships and strengthen its position in international LNG markets.

“Global demand for LNG continues to grow, and ADNOC Gas is well positioned to capture that opportunity,” said Fatema Al Nuaimi, Chief Executive Officer of ADNOC Gas.

The agreement comes as ADNOC advances a newly launched global LNG marketing and trading platform that combines the LNG marketing activities of ADNOC Gas and XRG with the trading capabilities of ADNOC Trading. The integrated structure is intended to provide access to a broader LNG portfolio and increase flexibility in supplying customers across different markets.

The platform is targeting 47 million tonnes per annum of marketable LNG beyond 2030. This represents a future commercial objective rather than the volume currently supplied or produced by ADNOC Gas alone.

Stéphane Michel, President Gas, Renewables & Power at TotalEnergies, highlighted the importance of ADNOC’s geographical position between European and Asian LNG markets and the role of the new agreement in supporting TotalEnergies’ international supply portfolio.

“The signing of this agreement with ADNOC Gas marks another important milestone in our long-standing partnership,” said Stéphane Michel, President Gas, Renewables & Power at TotalEnergies.

ADNOC Gas also expects the future integration of Ruwais LNG to significantly expand its LNG production capacity, supporting the company’s longer-term growth plans and its ability to serve international customers.

The announcement did not specify the financial value of the agreement, the annual delivery schedule or the LNG receiving terminals associated with the contract.
