CEVA Logistics opens new pharmaceutical logistics hub in France

CEVA Logistics has opened a new 17,000-square-metre pharmaceutical logistics facility at Strasbourg-Entzheim Airport business park in eastern France, expanding its capacity to handle temperature-sensitive healthcare products and international pharmaceutical shipments.

The new centre, located in the Bas-Rhin department, provides specialised warehousing, inventory management and distribution services for French and international pharmaceutical companies. It is designed to handle high-value healthcare products requiring controlled temperatures, advanced traceability and strict regulatory compliance.

Construction began in 2025, with the facility developed to support complex pharmaceutical supply chains. Its location near Strasbourg Airport provides access to air freight infrastructure, customs services and transport operators, supporting connections between regional warehousing activities and international cargo movements.

The opening follows CEVA’s April 2025 announcement of plans to develop the site and marks the transition of the project into operational use.

Temperature-controlled infrastructure for pharmaceutical cargo

The facility incorporates three primary temperature-controlled storage environments, covering +15°C to +25°C, +2°C to +8°C and −25°C. It also has the capability to accommodate specialised products requiring temperatures as low as −80°C.

With a ceiling height exceeding 17 metres, the warehouse includes infrastructure for handling active temperature-controlled air cargo containers, alongside inventory management and product traceability systems.

The site also features an on-site dry ice production system and specialised packaging equipment for palletised shipments, supporting the preparation and handling of sensitive pharmaceutical products.

The infrastructure is designed around Good Distribution Practice (GDP) requirements, while the company reports that the facility meets TAPA FSR B security certification standards.

CEVA is also targeting BREEAM Very Good and BiodiverCity environmental certifications for the development. Rooftop solar panels have been installed, with the electricity generated intended for consumption on-site.

CEVA expands its healthcare logistics network in France

The new facility is CEVA’s second logistics site at Strasbourg-Entzheim Airport business park, complementing an existing 10,000-square-metre operation.

The expansion increases the company’s presence in France’s Grand Est region, where it now operates four logistics sites across Entzheim, Sausheim and Vatry, representing approximately 90,000 square metres of combined warehousing space.

The region provides access to pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution activities along the Rhine Valley, supporting domestic and cross-border healthcare supply chains.

According to CEVA, its specialised healthcare logistics network in France now includes five dedicated facilities with more than 80,000 square metres of space.

“The opening of this new logistics facility marks an important milestone in the development of our Healthcare business in France,” said Amaury Montay, Contract Logistics Director France, CEVA Logistics.

Montay added that the facility is fully operational and strengthens CEVA’s ability to handle sensitive, temperature-controlled products while supporting pharmaceutical customers’ supply chain requirements.

Globally, CEVA serves more than 500 pharmaceutical and healthcare customers and operates approximately 50 specialised logistics facilities.

The opening adds further cold-chain and pharmaceutical distribution capabilities to CEVA’s contract logistics network, combining dedicated storage infrastructure with air freight connectivity and specialised handling services.
