FedEx appoints Jamere Jackson as new chief financial officer

FedEx Corporation has announced the appointment of Jamere Jackson as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective November 30, 2026, as the global transportation and logistics company prepares for a change in its financial leadership.
Jackson will succeed Claude Russ, who has served as interim Chief Financial Officer since June 1, 2026. The appointment brings an experienced corporate finance executive to FedEx, with a professional background spanning retail, transportation and several other industries.
Most recently, Jackson served as Chief Financial Officer of AutoZone, a position he has held since January 2021. His responsibilities at the automotive parts retailer have also included leadership of the company’s store development function.
Experience across major public companies
Before joining AutoZone, Jackson held senior financial leadership positions at Hertz Global Holdings and Nielsen Holdings, serving as Chief Financial Officer at both companies.
Earlier in his career, he occupied several leadership roles at General Electric, including Chief Financial Officer of a division within GE Oil and Gas. His professional experience includes financial management, capital allocation and operational responsibilities across different business sectors.
Jackson also serves on the Board of Directors of Eli Lilly and Company, where he chairs the Audit Committee.
Raj Subramaniam, President and Chief Executive Officer of FedEx Corporation, welcomed the appointment, highlighting Jackson’s experience in connecting financial strategy with operational performance.
Subramaniam said Jackson’s background in managing investments, profitability, cash generation and capital allocation would support FedEx’s efforts to pursue profitable growth and create long-term shareholder value.
The FedEx CEO also thanked Claude Russ for his leadership and contributions during his tenure as interim Chief Financial Officer.
Financial leadership transition at FedEx
Jackson’s appointment comes as FedEx continues to focus on financial performance and its broader corporate growth objectives.
In his new role, Jackson will join the company’s executive leadership team and assume responsibility for its financial management as Chief Financial Officer.
Commenting on his appointment, Jackson expressed enthusiasm about joining FedEx and working with its finance team. He said he looked forward to learning more about the organisation and applying his experience to support the company’s profitable growth strategy.
The announcement establishes November 30 as the effective date of the leadership transition. Until then, Claude Russ remains the company’s interim Chief Financial Officer.
FedEx has not announced additional changes to its executive leadership structure in connection with Jackson’s appointment.
