OOCL launches new FCS4 service linking Malaysia and East India

Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has announced the introduction of its new Far East–Chennai Service 4 (FCS4), strengthening container shipping connections between Malaysia and India’s eastern ports.

The new service is scheduled to launch on 22 November 2026, providing direct connections between Port Kelang in Malaysia and the Indian ports of Visakhapatnam (Vizag) and Chennai. The addition will expand OOCL’s regional service offering and provide shippers with another routing option for cargo moving between the two markets.

The planned FCS4 rotation is:

Port Kelang – Vizag – Chennai – Port Kelang.

The service will connect Malaysia’s principal container gateway with two major ports on India’s east coast, supporting cargo movements between Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent.

Port Kelang serves as an important regional container and transshipment hub, while Vizag and Chennai provide access to industrial and commercial markets in eastern and southern India.

According to OOCL, the new connection is intended to improve service flexibility, network connectivity and reliability for customers shipping between Malaysia and East India.

The introduction of FCS4 adds another service to OOCL’s Far East–Chennai network, which already includes other established connections linking Asian markets with India’s eastern seaboard.

The company has not disclosed the number or capacity of vessels assigned to FCS4, its sailing frequency or detailed port-to-port transit times.

Further operational information is expected to become available through OOCL’s sailing schedules as the planned launch approaches.
