Y/KNOT Invest secures higher-rate charter for tanker AMETHYST

Y/KNOT Invest has secured a second charter agreement for its tanker AMETHYST, with the vessel set to earn US$175,000 per day under a new contract with a major international oil and petroleum products trading group.
The agreement covers a period of between 1.5 and 2.5 months, with the charter scheduled to commence in early November 2026. It follows the completion of the vessel’s initial employment on 29 October, allowing the tanker to move directly into a new commercial engagement.
The new daily rate represents a substantial increase from the US$45,000 earned under the previous charter. Y/KNOT Invest attributed the improved terms to stronger tanker market conditions, supported by geopolitical disruptions and longer shipping routes.
The company did not identify the new charterer or disclose additional commercial terms beyond the daily revenue and expected charter duration.
First charter generates US$4.32 million
The AMETHYST joined Y/KNOT Invest’s fleet in late June 2026 and subsequently completed its first charter over a period of 96 days. The employment generated total revenue of US$4.32 million, equivalent to average daily revenue of US$45,000.
The second charter marks a significant increase in the vessel’s contracted daily earnings, although its final revenue contribution will depend on the actual duration of employment within the agreed range.
Separately, Y/KNOT Invest announced that its shares were included in the Athens Stock Exchange General Index, effective from the trading session of 27 October 2026.
The company presented the index inclusion as a further development in its presence in the Greek capital market, alongside the expansion of its tanker operations.
