Wallenius Wilhelmsen secures major shipping and logistics agreements

Wallenius Wilhelmsen has signed two three-year contracts with a leading equipment manufacturer, covering ocean transportation and logistics services with a combined estimated value exceeding US$1 billion.
According to the company’s announcement on 29 October 2026, the shipping agreement accounts for approximately US$950 million of the total contract value. Freight rates under the new arrangement are at similar levels to those agreed in the previous three-year contract.
The accompanying logistics agreement is valued at close to US$100 million over the same period, extending the scope of services provided to the customer beyond ocean transportation.
The equipment manufacturer was not identified in the announcement. However, Wallenius Wilhelmsen described the customer as an established partner with which it has maintained a long-standing commercial relationship.
John Felitto, Chief Customer Officer at Wallenius Wilhelmsen, said the relationship had given the company a detailed understanding of the customer’s shipping and logistics requirements. He also highlighted the role of the group’s global network, transport capacity and operational flexibility in supporting the customer’s supply chain.
The agreements cover a three-year period, although the company did not specify their commencement dates, anticipated cargo volumes or individual trade routes.
Wallenius Wilhelmsen provides roll-on/roll-off shipping and logistics services for vehicles, trucks, heavy equipment and other rolling cargo. Its operations combine international ocean transportation with inland distribution, processing facilities and marine terminals.
The new contracts add to the company’s portfolio of long-term customer agreements across the automotive and equipment manufacturing sectors.
With the shipping component accounting for the majority of the announced value, the agreements represent a substantial commercial commitment within Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s ocean transportation business, alongside a separate allocation for logistics services.
