Ryder expands truck rental and maintenance facility in Michigan

Ryder System has expanded its commercial truck rental and maintenance facility in Roseville, Michigan, increasing its service capacity for manufacturers, automotive suppliers, distributors and transportation companies across the Metro Detroit region.
The expansion adds 11,700 square feet (approximately 1,087 square metres) to the existing facility, which is located at 27555 Groesbeck Highway, near Interstates 696 and 94. According to Ryder, the additional space is intended to improve access to commercial vehicle rental, preventive maintenance and fleet support services for businesses operating throughout Macomb County and the surrounding industrial region.
The investment strengthens Ryder’s service infrastructure in an area with substantial automotive manufacturing and distribution activity, where vehicle availability and maintenance support are important to daily transportation operations.
Expanded truck maintenance capabilities
The upgraded Roseville facility features nine truck workstations across four drive-through service bays and an additional half-bay. It also includes a two-lane fuel island accessible to customers around the clock, alongside two acres of dedicated parking.
The maintenance workshop operates from 7 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Eastern Time, providing extended service availability for commercial vehicle operators. Customers can access truck rental services, preventive maintenance and fleet management support at the location.
“The Detroit area remains a major manufacturing market in the country,” said Tom Havens, President of Fleet Management Solutions at Ryder.
Havens said the expansion would allow Ryder to provide additional capacity closer to customers, helping businesses improve fleet availability and reduce vehicle downtime.
The facility also incorporates digital tools designed to support fleet operations and simplify service transactions. These include RyderGyde, which provides vehicle and maintenance information, and a self-service check-in kiosk intended to improve the customer experience.
In addition, customers can reserve commercial vehicles through Ryder’s online rental platform, which provides real-time vehicle availability, booking capabilities and centralised rental management across the company’s nationwide network.
The Roseville expansion increases Ryder’s capacity to support commercial vehicle operators serving Michigan’s manufacturing, automotive supply and distribution sectors, while extending access to maintenance and rental services within the Metro Detroit industrial corridor.
