The shipping and logistics group has named its current Chief Operating Officer Logistics to lead customer growth and commercial relationships from November.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen has appointed John Felitto as Chief Customer Officer (CCO), effective 1 November 2026, as the company prepares for a leadership transition within its customer-focused operations.

Felitto currently serves as Chief Operating Officer Logistics and is a member of the group’s Executive Management team. In his new position, he will lead the Customer Growth organisation, overseeing customer relationships and supporting the company’s commercial development.

The appointment follows the previously announced departure of Pia Synnerman, whom Felitto will succeed. Synnerman will continue supporting the leadership transition until 1 January 2027.

Executive brings experience across shipping and logistics

Felitto has held several senior positions within Wallenius Wilhelmsen, covering sales, ocean transportation and logistics.

His experience spans different parts of the group’s international operations, including activities involving customers across its shipping and logistics network.

Lasse Kristoffersen, President and CEO of Wallenius Wilhelmsen, highlighted Felitto’s commercial and operational background as important to the company’s customer strategy.

According to Kristoffersen, the increasing complexity of supply chains is strengthening the need to connect the group’s ocean transportation, logistics and terminal capabilities.

The new Chief Customer Officer will be responsible for supporting this coordination while developing relationships with existing and prospective customers.

Leadership transition scheduled for November

The appointment represents an internal leadership change rather than the recruitment of an external executive.

Felitto will move from his current logistics leadership position to the customer-focused role at the beginning of November.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen has not announced a successor to Felitto as Chief Operating Officer Logistics in the information provided.

The company has also not disclosed any accompanying organisational restructuring beyond the leadership transition.
