Tarros Group announces new Mediterranean service linking Italy and Thessaloniki

Tarros Group has announced a new Mediterranean shipping service connecting Italy directly with Thessaloniki, marking the return of a direct connection to Northern Greece within the company’s regional network.
The service will link the Italian ports of Salerno, La Spezia and Genoa with Thessaloniki before continuing to ports in the Marmara Sea and Aliaga, near Izmir in Türkiye.
According to the company’s announcement, the vessel Vento di Maestrale is scheduled to depart from Salerno approximately one week after the announcement. Tarros has not specified an exact sailing date in the information provided.
Thessaloniki to strengthen regional connectivity
The inclusion of Thessaloniki is intended to improve Tarros Group’s connections with Northern Greece and provide access to markets in the Balkans and Bulgaria.
The Greek port will also offer connections to North African destinations through the company’s existing transhipment hubs, extending the geographical reach of the new service beyond its direct Mediterranean port calls.
Tarros said the service will offer a range of container equipment options and is intended to provide competitive transit times and freight rates.
The development forms part of the company’s efforts to strengthen its Mediterranean shipping network and expand connections between Southern Europe, Greece and Türkiye.
The announcement does not specify the service’s official commercial name, sailing frequency or detailed transit times.
