Holland America Line adds new voyages following Oosterdam transformation

Holland America Line has opened bookings for five additional cruises aboard Oosterdam, which is scheduled to return to service on 31 October 2027 following an extensive modernization programme.
The new sailings will cover the Mediterranean, Atlantic and Caribbean, marking the vessel’s return to operations after its planned refurbishment in Marseille, France.
The transformation forms part of Holland America Evolution, a multiyear fleet modernization programme described by the company as the largest fleet investment in its 153-year history.
According to Holland America Line, work on Oosterdam will begin earlier than originally scheduled, allowing the vessel to resume operations with the newly announced itineraries.
Oosterdam to become first ship under modernization programme
Oosterdam will be the first vessel to complete the Holland America Evolution transformation, which is intended to introduce features from the company’s Pinnacle Class ships across other parts of its fleet.
The planned changes include new accommodation categories, redesigned public spaces and additional onboard facilities.
New stateroom and suite options will include Solo Verandahs, forward-facing Bridgeview Suites and Vista Suites, alongside a redesigned Pinnacle Suite.
The vessel will also receive a Grand Dutch Café and a redesigned Ocean Bar, incorporating facilities already available on Holland America Line’s Pinnacle Class ships.
Beth Bodensteiner, President of Holland America Line, said the vessel’s return would mark the beginning of a new phase in the company’s fleet development.
“As the first ship to emerge from Holland America Evolution, Oosterdam marks the beginning of an exciting new era for our fleet,” said Bodensteiner.
Five sailings scheduled between October and December 2027
The first post-modernization cruise is scheduled to depart Civitavecchia, Italy, on 31 October 2027, operating a 10-day Adriatic itinerary to Trieste.
The voyage will include destinations in Italy, Greece, Montenegro and Croatia.
Four additional sailings will follow, taking Oosterdam from the Mediterranean across the Atlantic to the Caribbean.
