Girteka expands European truck maintenance network with German facility

European road freight operator Girteka has opened a company-owned truck maintenance facility in Coesfeld, Germany, expanding its internal vehicle servicing network across key European transport markets.
The new site is intended to support Girteka’s international road freight operations by bringing maintenance services closer to the routes used by its fleet.
The opening follows the establishment of another company-operated maintenance facility in Padborg, Denmark, in May 2026.
New facility begins operations in Coesfeld
The Coesfeld facility can service up to ten truck-and-trailer combinations or 20 trucks simultaneously.
It also includes an on-site TÜV inspection line, allowing vehicles to undergo mandatory technical inspections without travelling to an external testing location.
According to Girteka, the facility has started operations with ten employees, with plans to increase staffing and servicing capacity as demand develops.
The investment forms part of the company’s efforts to reduce dependence on external maintenance providers and limit the time vehicles spend away from transport operations.
Girteka operates a fleet of more than 6,500 trucks and 8,000 semi-trailers, providing road freight services across Europe, including temperature-controlled and high-value cargo transportation.
Further European expansion under consideration
The German facility is the latest addition to Girteka’s company-operated maintenance network, following the opening of its Danish site earlier this year.
The company is assessing additional locations in Western Europe, focusing on areas with significant fleet activity and established transport corridors.
Girteka said the expansion of its maintenance infrastructure is intended to improve vehicle availability, provide greater control over servicing schedules and support its existing transport operations.
However, no further locations or opening dates have been confirmed.
The company has not disclosed the investment cost of the Coesfeld facility or quantified the expected reduction in maintenance downtime.
