Equinor extends Deepsea Atlantic drilling contract with Odfjell Drilling

Odfjell Drilling Ltd has announced that Equinor Energy AS has exercised contractual options for two additional wells using the offshore drilling rig Deepsea Atlantic.

The additional drilling work will follow directly after the rig’s existing contract, extending its firm employment until late in the fourth quarter of 2027.

The options have been exercised at the pricing agreed under the original contract. No separate financial value was disclosed for the additional wells.

Further drilling options remain available

Under the existing contractual arrangements, Equinor retains priced options for another two wells beyond the newly confirmed drilling programme.

The latest exercise provides additional contract coverage for Deepsea Atlantic while maintaining the commercial terms established in the original agreement.

Any further extension will depend on Equinor’s decision to exercise the remaining options.
