DEME secures new offshore wind installation contract in the Netherlands

Norse Energi PressRelease

DEME has signed a contract for the transportation and installation of 69 wind turbines at the Zeevonk offshore wind farm in the Netherlands, expanding its involvement in the development of the renewable energy project.

The latest agreement follows a foundation installation contract awarded to DEME in July 2026, giving the company responsibility for two major installation scopes at the planned offshore wind farm.

Zeevonk is jointly owned by Vattenfall and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through its Energy Investment Fund I. The project is expected to have a total installed capacity of approximately 1 GW and will be located in the Dutch North Sea, between 63 and 84 kilometres offshore from Bergen aan Zee.

Norse Energi to undertake turbine installation

DEME plans to deploy its next-generation jack-up offshore transport and installation vessel Norse Energi for the turbine installation campaign.

Mobilisation activities are expected to begin in 2028, with offshore operations scheduled to follow shortly afterwards. Completion of the project is currently anticipated in 2029.

The new contract extends DEME’s role beyond the foundation installation work secured earlier this year, covering another stage of the offshore wind farm’s construction.

Martin Degen, Business Unit Director WTG and O&M at DEME, said the latest award further expands the company’s involvement in the project and reflects its ability to undertake different offshore installation activities.

“Following the foundation installation award earlier this summer, this contract further expands DEME’s role in the delivery of the Zeevonk wind farm,” said Degen.

The company described the new agreement as a sizable contract but did not disclose its financial value.

The Zeevonk development remains subject to a final investment decision. Consequently, the planned mobilisation, offshore installation and completion dates remain dependent on the project’s progression.
