CMB.TECH completes sale of Suezmax tanker Stella

CMB.TECH NV has completed the sale of its Suezmax tanker Stella, with the transaction expected to generate an accounting gain of approximately $59.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The vessel, built in 2011, has a deadweight capacity of 165,000 tonnes and has already been delivered to its new owners. The company confirmed that the sale has been completed, although it did not disclose the buyer’s identity or the transaction price.
According to CMB.TECH, the anticipated gain of $59.6 million is calculated based on the vessel’s net sale price and its book value. The amount therefore represents the expected accounting gain from the disposal, rather than the actual proceeds received from selling the tanker.
The transaction involves one vessel from CMB.TECH’s diversified maritime fleet, which comprises approximately 235 vessels across its operations.
The company expects to recognise the gain in its financial results for the fourth quarter of 2026. While the vessel has already been transferred to its new owners, the reported gain remains an estimate until reflected in the company’s financial accounts.
