Seatrium renews cruise vessel maintenance agreement with Carnival Corporation

Seatrium Limited has renewed its multiyear agreement with Carnival Corporation, extending a partnership that began in 2010 and covers maintenance, repairs, upgrades and retrofit work across the cruise operator’s fleet.
Under the renewed Favoured Customer Contract (FCC), Carnival Corporation is expected to send several cruise vessels to Seatrium’s facilities over the coming years for statutory inspections, maintenance and vessel enhancement projects. The agreement covers ships operating across Carnival’s eight cruise brands, including AIDA Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line, Costa Cruises, Cunard, Holland America Line, Princess Cruises, P&O Cruises and Seabourn.
The renewal provides Carnival Corporation with access to scheduled repair slots at Seatrium’s shipyards, while allowing the Singapore-based group to plan facility utilisation and capacity requirements over a longer period.
Three cruise vessels scheduled for work in late 2026
Seatrium is scheduled to undertake maintenance and upgrade work on three Carnival Corporation vessels during the fourth quarter of 2026. Royal Princess and Carnival Luminosa are expected to enter its facilities in October, followed by Seabourn Encore in November.
Additional vessels from Carnival Corporation’s fleet are expected to undergo work at Seatrium’s yards between 2027 and 2029 under the renewed agreement. The company has not specified the total number of vessels expected during that period or the financial value of the contract.
The FCC arrangement forms part of Seatrium’s broader programme of long-term agreements with vessel owners and operators. The group currently has 22 FCC partners across several maritime sectors, including cruise shipping, LNG carriers, offshore vessels, naval vessels and powerships.
Alvin Gan, Executive Vice President, Repairs and Upgrades at Seatrium, highlighted the longstanding relationship between the two companies.
“Carnival Corporation has been a cornerstone of Seatrium’s cruise business journey, and our first strategic partner in the highly sophisticated cruise segment back in 2010,” Gan said.
Partnership extends cruise ship repair cooperation
The renewed agreement continues a relationship spanning more than 15 years, during which Seatrium has carried out maintenance, upgrades and retrofit projects for Carnival Corporation’s cruise vessels.
According to Seatrium, the group has serviced more than 442 cruise vessels since 1978, reflecting its longstanding involvement in the cruise ship repair and upgrade market.
Carnival Corporation also emphasised the importance of maintaining long-term relationships with shipyard partners capable of supporting the technical and operational requirements of its global fleet.
The agreement establishes a framework for continued vessel maintenance and upgrade activities through the coming years, with the first three scheduled projects taking place during the final quarter of 2026.
