Maran Tankers Management has taken delivery of Maran Melina, the fifth dual-fuel Suezmax tanker in its series, continuing the fleet modernisation programme of the Angelicoussis Group.

The 155,500 dwt vessel was built by New Times Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (NTS) and will operate under the Greek flag.

The delivery adds another dual-fuel tanker to Maran Tankers’ fleet as the company continues investing in vessels designed to improve fuel efficiency and operational performance.

Maran Melina incorporates energy-saving technologies

Maran Melina features an optimised hull design and advanced energy-saving devices intended to reduce fuel consumption during operations.

The vessel is also equipped with a boil-off gas (BOG) management system and a shaft generator arrangement, which are designed to support more efficient energy use on board.

According to Maran Tankers, these technologies contribute to improved operational efficiency and reduced fuel consumption.

The tanker is the fifth vessel delivered in the same dual-fuel Suezmax series, although the company did not provide further details about the remaining vessels in the programme.

Angelicoussis Group continues fleet modernisation

The delivery forms part of the Angelicoussis Group’s efforts to modernise its tanker operations through the introduction of vessels incorporating alternative-fuel capabilities and energy-efficient technologies.

Maran Tankers highlighted the importance of the vessel’s design and onboard systems in supporting its operational and environmental objectives.

The company did not disclose the vessel’s construction cost, delivery schedule for additional ships or planned commercial deployment.

With Maran Melina now delivered, Maran Tankers has added another 155,500 dwt Suezmax tanker to its fleet.
