Ackermans & van Haaren agrees to raise Van Moer Logistics stake

Ackermans & van Haaren has entered into an agreement to increase its stake in Van Moer Logistics to 39.77% through its wholly owned subsidiary AvH Growth Capital. The transaction involves an additional investment of approximately €11 million, strengthening its existing relationship with the logistics provider.
Van Moer Logistics operates across multimodal transport, port and inland waterway logistics, warehousing, freight forwarding and on-site logistics. Its growth strategy focuses on expanding its intermodal network, broadening its integrated services and developing its international presence, a process that began in 2025.
“With this additional investment in Van Moer Logistics of approximately 11 million euros we strengthen our successful partnership with the founders, Jo Van Moer and Anne Verstraeten, and with the management team,” said Tom Bamelis, CFO and member of the executive committee, Ackermans & van Haaren.
Growth in revenue and operating capacity
Since AvH first invested in 2021, Van Moer Logistics has expanded its financial and operational footprint. Revenue increased from €186 million in 2020 to €344 million in 2025, while EBITDA rose from €13.4 million to €38.5 million over the same period.
The company now operates at more than 40 locations, employing 2,200 people and managing a fleet of 400 trucks and 15 inland waterway vessels. Its warehousing capacity has reached 850,000 square metres, compared with 500,000 square metres in 2021, when it employed more than 1,400 people.
According to the announcement, Van Moer recorded a strong first half of 2026, supported by its diversified business model. This performance came against a backdrop of geopolitical tensions and trade conflicts, which the company described as contributing to an uncertain, competitive and cost-sensitive market.
Investment in facilities and freight forwarding
Recent developments include the inauguration of a silo complex at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges. Van Moer is also developing a logistics centre along the Albert Canal in Beringen, while its acquisition of Ziegler Belgium’s air freight activities in June expanded its freight-forwarding capabilities.
“We greatly value our partnership with Ackermans & van Haaren, which extends well beyond financial support,” said Jo Van Moer, Founder and CEO, Van Moer Logistics. He added that AvH supports the company’s growth plans and international expansion ambitions.
