SITC, SIPG and Hisense sign South Africa investment cooperation agreement

SITC has signed a tripartite framework agreement with Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) and Hisense concerning equity investment cooperation for SC South Africa, marking a new step in collaboration between the shipping, port logistics and manufacturing sectors.

The agreement was signed on 16 October 2026 in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China, during a ceremony attended by senior executives from all three companies.

The framework outlines plans to coordinate logistics resources, develop integrated supply chain services and strengthen cooperation in overseas operations.

Integrated logistics services for Hisense

Under the proposed cooperation, SITC Logistics and SIPG Logistics will combine their resources across port operations, shipping routes, supply chain management and logistics networks.

The objective is to provide Hisense with integrated, end-to-end supply chain solutions supporting its international business activities.

The arrangement brings together SITC’s shipping and logistics capabilities, SIPG’s port and logistics network, and Hisense’s requirements as an international manufacturing company.

The companies intend to coordinate their respective operations to improve connectivity between maritime transportation, port services and wider supply chain activities.

Cooperation extends to personnel development

Beyond commercial operations, the three parties plan to establish a regular programme for personnel exchanges and joint training.

The initiative will include opportunities for employees to participate in job rotations, share experience from overseas projects and exchange knowledge relating to local management practices.

These activities are intended to support operational coordination and the development of expertise across the participating companies.

Framework establishes basis for further cooperation

The agreement represents a framework for future equity investment cooperation relating to SC South Africa.

However, the announcement does not disclose the proposed ownership structure, investment value, equity percentages or implementation timetable.

It also does not confirm that an equity transaction has been completed.

The partnership reflects efforts by Chinese shipping, port logistics and manufacturing companies to coordinate international supply chain activities and support overseas operations.
