Transocean has strengthened its offshore drilling portfolio with a series of contract awards and exercised options across several international markets, bringing its total contract backlog to approximately US$8 billion as of November 2, 2026.

According to the company’s latest quarterly Fleet Status Report, firm contract fixtures added approximately US$2 billion in incremental backlog. The developments cover drilling operations in the U.S. Gulf, Equatorial Guinea and Norway, alongside a binding Letter of Award for a two-year drilling programme in India.

## New drilling contracts across key offshore markets

The ultra-deepwater drillship *Deepwater Conqueror* secured two separate contracts, including a two-well programme with an undisclosed operator in Equatorial Guinea and a five-well agreement with another unnamed operator in the U.S. Gulf.

Meanwhile, *Deepwater Proteus* received a ten-well contract from an undisclosed operator in the U.S. Gulf. An existing customer also exercised an option covering one additional well, with an estimated duration of 60 days.

In India, Transocean announced a two-year binding Letter of Award with Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for the *Dhirubhai Deepwater KG2*. The announcement represents a binding award rather than confirmation of a fully executed drilling contract.

Activity in Norway also contributed to the latest fleet developments. The *Transocean Norge* secured a two-well contract with A/S Norske Shell, including an option for an additional well. Separately, a customer exercised an option for the *Transocean Equinox*, covering one well with an estimated duration of 50 days.

## Equinor approval strengthens contract visibility

A significant component of Transocean’s updated backlog relates to the previously announced agreement with Equinor covering three harsh-environment semisubmersible drilling rigs in Norway.

Final approval was received in late September for the *Transocean Enabler*, *Transocean Encourage* and *Transocean Endurance*. The agreement, valued at approximately US$1 billion, is now included in the company’s reported contract backlog.

The latest fleet update brings together new drilling awards, exercised contractual options and the final approval of previously announced commitments. These developments strengthen Transocean’s contracted activity across deepwater and harsh-environment drilling operations.

As of November 2, the company’s total contract backlog stood at approximately US$8 billion, providing visibility into future drilling activity across its international fleet.
