Tallink Silja Line has announced an expanded programme of special summer cruises for 2027, doubling its scheduled sailings to Visby, Sweden, and maintaining additional departures to Riga, Latvia.

The ferry operator plans to operate 16 special cruises from Helsinki to Visby via Tallinn, compared with eight in 2026. Three further cruises will connect Helsinki with Riga, bringing the total number of special summer departures to 19.

All sailings will be operated by *Victoria I*, which normally serves the Helsinki–Tallinn route. Each special cruise will include two nights aboard the vessel and a full day at the destination.

The expanded programme increases Tallink’s seasonal passenger capacity on routes outside its regular scheduled network, particularly towards Gotland, where demand for summer leisure travel has supported the continuation of special cruise operations.

### Visby programme expands to 16 departures

The 2027 Visby programme will operate between 12 June and 13 August, offering departures throughout the summer season.

Scheduled departures are 12 and 30 June; 2, 7, 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, 28 and 30 July; and 1, 6, 8 and 13 August.

Passengers will travel from Helsinki via Tallinn to Visby, the main town on the Swedish island of Gotland. The itineraries provide a full day ashore before the vessel returns.

Tallink will also operate three Helsinki–Riga special cruises, departing on 18 June and 4 and 14 July 2027.

Marina Jõgi, Sales Director at Tallink Grupp, said the company had opened bookings well ahead of the summer season to allow passengers to plan their trips in advance.

The cruise programme includes optional shore excursions and local transport arrangements, while passengers can also bring bicycles or arrange bicycle rentals at their destinations.

### Victoria I assigned to seasonal services

The expanded cruise programme will use *Victoria I*, a passenger vessel built in 2004 at Rauma, Finland, with accommodation capacity for approximately 2,500 passengers.

The ship normally operates between Helsinki and Tallinn but is also deployed on special seasonal itineraries to destinations outside the company’s regular passenger network.

The increased number of departures to Visby represents a doubling of the 2026 programme, while the three planned Riga cruises maintain the previous year’s frequency.

The schedule will also allow passengers to visit Visby during Gotland’s Medieval Days in August, with the final two cruises coinciding with the event.

The announced programme reflects Tallink Silja Line’s continued use of its existing fleet to provide seasonal passenger connections across the Baltic Sea.

The company has not announced additional vessel acquisitions or permanent route changes associated with the expanded summer cruise schedule.
