Stord has acquired AMS Fulfillment, a US-based third-party logistics provider, in a move that expands its warehousing footprint, fulfillment capabilities and customer base across the United States.

The acquisition, described by Stord as its largest to date, adds more than one million square feet of logistics space across major East and West Coast markets, including the Los Angeles, Salt Lake City and Philadelphia metropolitan areas.

AMS Fulfillment processes more than 10 million orders annually, serving premium beauty, wellness and direct-to-consumer brands.

Following the transaction, Stord’s global fulfillment network spans more than 100 locations.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

## Expanding fulfillment capacity and network coverage

The transaction strengthens Stord’s position in the e-commerce logistics market by bringing additional warehousing capacity and millions of annual orders onto its platform.

AMS has operated for more than two decades, providing fulfillment services to retailers and consumer brands.

Several of its facilities already use automated put-wall and sortation systems, adding existing automation capabilities to Stord’s growing logistics infrastructure.

Stord expects AMS customers to gain access to its wider fulfillment network, parcel shipping program and integrated technology platform.

The company also plans to build on AMS’s existing automation capabilities through further investment in robotics and artificial intelligence.

## Investment in automation and logistics technology

The acquisition follows a series of financing announcements and investments by Stord.

In October, the company secured a $400 million credit facility led by Citi, following a $250 million Series F funding round in May that valued the business at $3 billion.

Stord also established Stord Labs, a dedicated business focused on robotics deployment and data-driven technology development.

The company says its operations generate more than eight billion data points annually, supporting the development of automation and AI applications across its network.

Stord reports that it processes more than $15 billion in gross merchandise value annually for over 1,000 brands.

Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Sean Henry said the AMS acquisition would accelerate the company’s expansion while strengthening its ability to deliver faster and more reliable fulfillment services.

AMS Chief Executive Officer Greg Morello said the transaction would provide the company’s customers with access to a larger logistics network and additional technology investment.

## Twelfth acquisition supports growth strategy

AMS represents Stord’s twelfth acquisition and continues a broader strategy of expanding its fulfillment operations through acquisitions and investment.

Previous transactions include the acquisition of Shipwire from CMA CGM, Ware2Go from UPS and Pitney Bowes’ e-commerce fulfillment business.

The latest deal adds further capacity ahead of the peak shipping season while expanding Stord’s presence in major US distribution markets.

The company intends to use its growing network, technology infrastructure and access to capital to support further expansion in the United States and internationally.
