The acquisition brings the Telix maritime communication platform into Signal Ocean’s business, extending its activities beyond market intelligence and shipping data.

Signal Ocean has acquired Athens-based maritime software company Lgmar, expanding its technology portfolio into communication systems used by shipping professionals.

Announced on 15 October 2026, the transaction brings Lgmar’s Telix platform into Signal Ocean’s business, adding specialised maritime email and communication capabilities to its existing market intelligence and data services.

The acquisition follows Signal Ocean’s purchases of AXSMarine and Alphaliner earlier in 2026, further expanding the company’s presence in maritime software and information services.

Financial terms of the Lgmar transaction were not disclosed.

## Acquisition adds maritime communication capabilities

Founded in 1989, Lgmar develops specialised email and communication software for the shipping industry.

Its Telix platform is used by shipping companies and maritime professionals, including shipowners, managers, brokers, agents, operators and other service providers.

According to the company, Lgmar serves several hundred clients and thousands of users, primarily in Greece and other international markets.

The acquisition will allow Signal Ocean to extend its activities into communication workflows associated with chartering, vessel operations and post-fixture processes.

Signal Ocean currently provides shipping market intelligence, analytics and data-processing technology for charterers, brokers and shipowners.

The company intends to combine its data and artificial intelligence capabilities with Lgmar’s experience in maritime communications, although no specific product integration timetable has been announced.

## Signal Ocean continues acquisition activity

The transaction represents another expansion of Signal Ocean’s maritime technology portfolio during 2026.

Earlier this year, the company acquired AXSMarine and Alphaliner, strengthening its position in shipping information and analytics.

Ioannis Martinos, CEO of Signal Ocean, said the immediate priority following the Lgmar acquisition would be maintaining continuity for customers of both companies.

Helen Skourtis, Managing Director of Lgmar, also highlighted the importance of preserving the company’s products, team and established customer relationships.

Signal Ocean is the technology arm of The Signal Group and operates internationally, with offices in London, Athens, Singapore, Paris, Sofia and Hamburg.

The companies have not disclosed whether the acquisition will result in organisational changes or when any combined technology offering might become available.
