Singapore-based Seatrium has secured a contract worth more than S$200 million from SBM Offshore for the integration of a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel intended to support offshore energy developments in South America.

The agreement, announced on 30 October 2026, covers a range of engineering, fabrication, vessel modification and integration activities. Project execution is expected to begin during the fourth quarter of 2026, with completion scheduled for 2029.

The contract extends the existing relationship between Seatrium and SBM Offshore, which have previously collaborated on offshore production projects.

Under the new award, Seatrium will fabricate key mooring and riser support structures, a flare tower and associated topside support structures. Its responsibilities also include vessel modifications, drydocking and the integration of topside modules.

The scope extends to mechanical completion, selected pre-commissioning activities and support for commissioning and sea trials.

Marlin Khiew, Executive Vice President of Seatrium Energy (Projects) and President, LATAM, said the contract builds on the company’s experience delivering complex FPSO projects and its established relationship with SBM Offshore.

The project will support offshore developments in South America, although Seatrium has not disclosed the name of the vessel, its intended offshore field or the country where it will eventually operate.

The company has also not provided details of the FPSO’s planned oil production capacity, storage capacity or the exact contract value beyond confirming that the award exceeds S$200 million.

Seatrium provides engineering, construction, conversion and integration services for offshore and marine assets, including FPSOs, floating production units and other offshore energy infrastructure.

The latest contract adds to the group’s offshore project activities, with work scheduled to continue through 2029.
