Ryder System has completed the acquisition of Efficiency Enterprises, expanding its truck leasing, rental and maintenance network across the eastern United States with additional facilities, fleet equipment and technical personnel.

The transaction closed on 1 November 2026 and adds six locations in Florida, New York, Maryland and Delaware to Ryder’s Fleet Management Solutions operations. The acquired business brings approximately 1,200 vehicles and equipment units into the company’s network, along with around 50 technicians.

Ryder expects the acquisition to generate approximately US$50 million in additional gross revenue for its Fleet Management Solutions division in 2027 and contribute positively to earnings. The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

The acquisition forms part of Ryder’s strategy to expand its operational presence in freight distribution markets where businesses require fleet maintenance, equipment leasing and transportation support.

### Six facilities added across eastern US markets

The acquired facilities are located in Orlando, Tampa and Fort Myers in Florida, Astoria in New York, Baltimore in Maryland, and Middletown in Delaware.

Efficiency Enterprises’ fleet includes more than 900 power units and trailers, together with over 200 units of material handling equipment. These assets expand Ryder’s capacity to provide rental, leasing, maintenance and equipment-related services to commercial fleet operators.

The locations serve different freight and distribution markets, including e-commerce and food logistics in Florida, urban deliveries around New York City, port-related transportation in Baltimore and regional distribution operations across the Mid-Atlantic.

Tom Havens, President of Fleet Management Solutions at Ryder, said the acquisition would strengthen the company’s ability to support customers operating in major logistics markets.

“With Efficiency Enterprises’ experienced workforce, established customer relationships, and strong maintenance and rental operations, we are expanding our ability to support fleets operating in high-demand logistics markets,” said Tom Havens, President of Fleet Management Solutions at Ryder.

### Integration scheduled through the remainder of 2026

Founded in Astoria, New York, in 1978, Efficiency Enterprises developed from a single-location business into a regional provider of fleet management, maintenance and equipment leasing services.

The company subsequently expanded into several East Coast markets, serving customers that depend on commercial trucks, trailers and material handling equipment.

Ryder plans to integrate the acquired assets and operations into its existing network during the remainder of 2026, while maintaining services for current customers. Richard Barbato Jr., President of Efficiency Enterprises, will support the transition.

The addition of six facilities and approximately 1,200 equipment units expands Ryder’s existing North American operations, which include around 240,000 commercial vehicles and nearly 800 maintenance locations.

The transaction strengthens the company’s fleet services business, although its anticipated financial contribution remains subject to the successful integration and future performance of the acquired operations.
