# OOCL announces new China–Indonesia container service

Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has announced the launch of a new China Indonesia Service (CIS4), expanding its container shipping connections between North and South China and Indonesia.

The service is scheduled to begin on 22 November 2026, providing direct connections between Qingdao, Shanghai and Nansha in China and Jakarta and Surabaya in Indonesia. Singapore will also be included in the rotation, connecting the two markets through an additional regional port call.

According to OOCL, the new service is intended to improve connectivity, flexibility and service reliability for containerised cargo moving between China and Indonesia. The introduction of CIS4 will add another service option for customers transporting goods along this regional trade corridor.

## CIS4 port rotation

The announced port rotation is:

**Qingdao – Shanghai – Nansha – Jakarta – Surabaya – Singapore – Qingdao**

The rotation includes three Chinese ports, two Indonesian ports and a call at Singapore before returning to Qingdao.

OOCL has not specified the number of vessels to be deployed, their capacity or the service frequency in its announcement. Further operational details may be communicated ahead of the planned launch.

The introduction of CIS4 forms part of OOCL’s efforts to strengthen its container shipping connections between China and Indonesia, with the new service expected to commence operations in November 2026.
