# MSC Cruises announces new short sailing from Southampton

MSC Cruises has announced a three-night cruise departing Southampton in May 2027, adding a short European itinerary to MSC Meraviglia’s programme from the British port.

The sailing will depart on 26 May 2027, calling at Zeebrugge in Belgium and Cherbourg in France before returning to Southampton. According to the company, it will be the only short cruise departing from Southampton in its 2027 programme.

Fares will start at £440 per person, with bookings scheduled to open at 10:00 a.m. on 20 October 2026. The departure will also mark MSC Meraviglia’s first sailing from Southampton during the 2027 season.

## MSC Meraviglia to visit Belgium and France

The three-night itinerary will include a call at Zeebrugge, a Belgian port providing access to the nearby city of Bruges. Passengers will also be able to visit local coastal attractions and maritime sites.

In Cherbourg, the French port of call, visitors will have access to attractions including La Cité de la Mer maritime museum, local markets and the Emmanuel Liais public park.

Antonio Paradiso, Vice President of International Sales at MSC Cruises, said the company expects demand for the sailing from passengers seeking shorter holidays and cruise options that do not require flights.

The cruise will operate aboard MSC Meraviglia, which features 12 dining venues and 20 bars, alongside swimming pools, entertainment facilities and a spa. The vessel also includes the MSC Yacht Club, a separate accommodation and hospitality area with dedicated guest services.

## MSC Cruises outlines wider Southampton programme

Beyond the May departure, MSC Meraviglia is scheduled to operate from Southampton between May and October 2027.

The vessel’s wider programme will include itineraries to the Norwegian fjords, Northern Europe, Spain, Portugal, Madeira, Ibiza, Morocco and the Canary Islands.

The newly announced three-night voyage will provide a shorter alternative to these longer itineraries, with calls at two continental European ports during the sailing.
