Maersk has reported further improvements in port operations across East Asia as shipping networks continue recovering from disruption caused by the region’s typhoon season.

In a customer advisory issued on 20 October, the Danish shipping company said operational conditions at East China ports had improved, with vessel waiting times continuing to decline compared with previous weeks.

However, strong export demand from Asia is maintaining pressure on congested ports, while the wider regional network has yet to return fully to normal operations.

## Port recovery continues amid strong export demand

According to Maersk, the direct effects of recent typhoon activity have largely subsided, allowing recovery efforts to progress across affected ports.

Despite these improvements, congestion and operational conditions at individual ports continue to influence cargo flows and vessel schedule recovery throughout the region.

The company indicated that the network is becoming increasingly stable, although intermittent delays may persist on certain trade lanes.

Maersk did not identify specific ports facing continuing delays or provide updated waiting-time figures.

## Operational adjustments remain in place

Maersk said it is coordinating with ports, terminal operators and other operational partners to support cargo movements and improve network stability.

The measures include managing cargo flows across its shipping network, introducing operational adjustments where necessary and coordinating the use of available capacity.

The company is also contacting customers whose shipments may be affected to discuss available alternatives and mitigation measures.

Shippers with time-sensitive cargo have been encouraged to review their shipment arrangements and contingency options with Maersk representatives.

Although port performance has improved, Maersk expects the wider recovery process to continue as regional cargo flows and sailing schedules gradually normalise.

The carrier said it would continue monitoring operational developments and issue further updates as conditions change.
