# Holland America Line to add Arcadia to fleet in 2029

Holland America Line will expand its fleet to 12 ships in 2029 with the addition of Arcadia, which will transfer from P&O Cruises.

The Vista Class vessel will add capacity for more than 2,000 guests and become part of Holland America Line’s ongoing fleet modernisation programme.

Arcadia is built on the same Vista Class platform as Oosterdam, Noordam, Westerdam and Zuiderdam, allowing the cruise line to integrate the vessel alongside ships already operating within its fleet.

## Arcadia to join Holland America fleet

The transfer will provide Holland America Line with additional capacity and greater flexibility in planning its future cruise deployment.

“Adding Arcadia allows us to welcome more guests while building on everything they already love about our brand,” said Beth Bodensteiner, President of Holland America Line.

“As a Vista Class ship, she is a natural fit and an exciting extension of Holland America Evolution.”

Details of the venues and other features that will be introduced aboard Arcadia are expected to be determined over the coming months.

## Fleet modernisation continues

The vessel will also become part of Holland America Evolution, the cruise line’s multiyear programme covering changes to accommodation, restaurants and public spaces across parts of its fleet.

Oosterdam is scheduled to introduce its updated configuration in autumn 2027, followed by Zuiderdam in April 2028.

Changes already announced for those vessels include the addition of the Grand Dutch Café, modifications to the Ocean Bar, new Bridgeview Suites and purpose-built Solo Verandah cabins.

Holland America Line said the Arcadia transfer would support its near-term fleet growth while complementing its longer-term modernisation plans.

Bodensteiner also said the company is considering newbuildings as part of its approach to future fleet expansion.
