C.H. Robinson Worldwide has appointed Valerie Capers Workman as its new Chief Human Resources Officer, effective November 16, 2026, as the global logistics company continues to advance its organisational transformation and Lean AI strategy.

Workman will succeed Angie Freeman, currently Chief Human Resources & ESG Officer, who is scheduled to retire at the end of 2026 after nearly three decades with the company. The two executives will work together to support the leadership transition.

The appointment comes as C.H. Robinson seeks to align its workforce capabilities, organisational culture and talent development with its long-term business strategy, particularly as artificial intelligence becomes an increasingly important component of its operations.

## Former Tesla executive joins C.H. Robinson

Workman brings more than two decades of executive leadership experience across major organisations, including Tesla, where she served as Vice President and Head of Human Resources.

Most recently, she has served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Empower Pharmacy. Her professional background includes workforce transformation, talent management and organisational change, with a focus on the relationship between technology, employees and business performance.

At C.H. Robinson, Workman will lead the company’s global human resources organisation. Her responsibilities will include strengthening leadership effectiveness, developing workforce capabilities, supporting talent development and fostering a high-performance organisational culture.

The company said the appointment is intended to support its ongoing transformation, including the integration of artificial intelligence into business processes and the development of the skills needed to operate in a technology-driven logistics environment.

“Our transformation is about more than deploying advanced technology. It’s about fundamentally changing how we work, how we serve customers and how we unlock the full potential of our people,” said Dave Bozeman, President and Chief Executive Officer of C.H. Robinson.

Bozeman highlighted Workman’s experience in human resources leadership and organisational transformation, describing her appointment as an important part of the company’s next phase of development.

Workman also emphasised the relationship between artificial intelligence and human expertise in the logistics sector.

“C.H. Robinson is redefining what’s possible in global logistics, and its approach to bringing together AI and human expertise creates an extraordinary opportunity,” said Valerie Capers Workman, incoming Chief Human Resources Officer of C.H. Robinson.

## Leadership transition and ESG responsibilities

The appointment will also bring changes to C.H. Robinson’s organisational structure.

As part of the transition, the company’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) function will move under the responsibility of Dorothy Capers, Chief Legal Officer. According to the company, the change will align ESG activities with its broader governance responsibilities.

Freeman’s career at C.H. Robinson has included leadership positions across Investor Relations, Marketing and Public Relations, Government Affairs, Human Resources and ESG.

She has also served as President of the C.H. Robinson Foundation, contributing to the company’s community engagement activities.

During her nearly 30 years with the organisation, Freeman has participated in several periods of business development and organisational change, helping shape the company’s workforce strategy and corporate culture.

“Angie’s contributions to C.H. Robinson over nearly three decades have been extraordinary,” said Bozeman, acknowledging her leadership and contribution to the company’s development.

The planned transition will see Workman assume responsibility for global human resources in November, while Freeman’s retirement is expected at the end of the year.

The leadership change forms part of C.H. Robinson’s broader efforts to develop the organisational capabilities required to support its Lean AI strategy and ongoing transformation of global logistics operations.
