Ardmore Shipping Corporation reported higher third-quarter earnings for 2026, supported by improved tanker charter rates, while early fourth-quarter bookings indicate a further strengthening of market conditions.

The product and chemical tanker operator recorded net income attributable to common shareholders of US$16.3 million for the three months ended 30 September 2026, compared with US$12.1 million in the corresponding period of 2025. Earnings per share increased to US$0.40 from US$0.30, while quarterly revenue rose to US$87.7 million from US$81.2 million.

For the first nine months of 2026, Ardmore reported net income attributable to common shareholders of US$100.4 million, compared with US$26.7 million a year earlier. Adjusted earnings, which exclude certain non-recurring items, reached US$88.2 million, up from US$27.2 million. The difference between reported and adjusted earnings primarily reflects a US$12.2 million gain from the sale of *Ardmore Engineer* in June.

The company’s average fleet-wide time charter equivalent (TCE) rate increased to US$25,358 per day in the third quarter, compared with US$23,475 in the same period last year. Higher spot charter rates contributed to revenue growth, although their effect was partly offset by fewer spot trading days.

## Fourth-quarter tanker bookings strengthen

Ardmore’s MR tankers achieved an average spot TCE rate of US$27,031 per day during the third quarter, while its chemical tankers earned US$23,266 per day.

As of 3 November, approximately 45% of the company’s fourth-quarter MR revenue days had been fixed at an average spot TCE rate of US$57,600 per day. For chemical tankers, approximately 60% of fourth-quarter revenue days had been secured at an average rate of US$30,100 per day.

These figures indicate substantially stronger rates on bookings already concluded for the fourth quarter, although the final quarterly averages will depend on the employment and rates achieved for the remaining unfixed days.

“Already-strong market momentum has accelerated into the fourth quarter, with MR spot bookings at a large multiple of our cash breakeven,” said Gernot Ruppelt, Chief Executive Officer of Ardmore Shipping Corporation.

Ruppelt also highlighted the influence of geopolitical disruptions on global energy transportation, noting that tanker markets continue to respond to changing trade patterns and supply constraints.

Ardmore identified the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, disruption around the Strait of Hormuz and changes in oil trading patterns associated with the war in Ukraine as important sources of market uncertainty. The company cautioned that changes in these conditions could affect future tanker demand, freight rates and vessel values.

## Fleet renewal and shareholder distributions

As of 30 September 2026, Ardmore operated 24 owned vessels, comprising 18 Eco-Design MR tankers and six Eco-Design product and chemical tankers.

The company is also progressing its fleet renewal programme, having previously exercised options for two additional 40,500 dwt Handysize tankers at Wuhu Shipyard. This brings its total order to six vessels, with deliveries scheduled between late 2028 and 2030. Ardmore has no remaining options under the programme.

During the third quarter, the company agreed to sell the 2013-built *Ardmore Endeavour* for US$34.3 million. The transaction was completed with delivery of the vessel to its buyer in October 2026.

Ardmore also declared a quarterly cash dividend of US$0.27 per common share, consistent with its policy of distributing approximately two-thirds of adjusted earnings. The dividend is scheduled for payment on 15 December 2026 to shareholders of record on 27 November.

At the end of September, Ardmore reported available liquidity of US$301.1 million, including US$47.5 million in cash and cash equivalents and US$253.6 million in undrawn revolving credit facilities.

With stronger fourth-quarter charter bookings and an ongoing newbuilding programme, Ardmore enters the final months of 2026 with higher contracted spot rates on part of its fleet, while remaining exposed to developments in global energy markets and geopolitical conditions.
